Advanced Therapeutics is an award-winning wellness centre located in the heart of Toronto’s Leslieville – Beaches area. Our experienced therapists provide registered massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, craniosacral and fascia stretch therapy.

Advanced Therapeutics was established by Kevin Oates R.M.T., in 1989 and has since become a fixture in the community. We recognize the growing health demands of the public, and are pleased to provide outstanding acupuncture, chiropractic, craniosacral and fascia stretch therapy services to complement our award-winning massage therapy.

Kevin Oates

Kevin integrates eastern and western massage techniques into his deep tissue treatments. With over 30 years of experience, Kevin knows how to treat, heal and maintain a healthy body.

The methods Kevin uses aide in the prevention and healing of injuries, including sports injuries, chronic and acute pain and issues created from a variety of health challenges. Kevin also provides therapeutic massages to relax and revitalize you.

Kevin has won numerous awards including ''Excellence in Teaching'' from Kikkawa College. In addition to clinical work, Kevin has been part of the examination committee working as board examiner for the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. For many years Kevin was also actively teaching and instructing students. Kevin's hands-on techniques continue to be sought out by other therapists.

Dr. Nam Nguyen

Dr. Nam H. Nguyen is pleased to provide the people of Leslieville and surrounding areas quality chiropractic service and care. Dr. Nguyen recognizes the constant demands put upon people’s bodies today and is excited to play a role in building a healthier community.

Being an avid student of several chiropractic techniques, Dr. Nguyen is well versed in Applied Kinesiology, Diversified and S.O.T to name a few. It is the variety of techniques and procedures that allow Dr. Nguyen to address the structural, chemical, emotional and energetic components to your health issues.

Cynthia Burrows

Cynthia has practiced as a massage therapist for over 23 years. She believes that massage therapy plays a vital role in a person’s wellness journey. She recognizes the importance of calming the nervous system and treating the body as a whole to allow healing to take place.

Based on a client’s needs, Cynthia will blend soothing Swedish massage techniques with deep tissue work, joint mobilizations and stretching to treat both chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions, pregnancy related discomfort or stress related conditions.

Since graduating in 2000 from Sutherland-Chan School, Cynthia has worked with a diverse group of clients providing care. She hopes to empower her clients to achieve their wellness goals and is looking forward to being a part of their journey.

Marion Wehner

Whether you are seeking relaxation, relief from repetitive strain issues, or injury rehabilitation, Marion will provide a massage that is effective for you.

She focuses on relieving aches and pains while also providing a treatment that is deeply relaxing. Marion uses Swedish techniques (light pressure to deep tissue), along with myofascial and trigger point techniques. Marion is also happy to provide you with simple self-care recommendations so you can be proactive in maintaining your own health.

Marion chose to become a Registered Massage Therapist as a way to combine her interest in health and fitness with her desire to help people feel great and keep moving. She completed her massage therapy training at the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. As well as massage she has experienced and studied a wide variety of bodywork and movement modalities.

Salvatore Spatafora

Salvatore has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist and Craniosacral Therapist for 15 years. Compassionate and open-hearted, his therapeutic approach to wellness balances technical discernment with intuitive guidance. Salvatore has learned to go deep, listen with his hands and touch with an open heart. Treatments range from sports injuries and chronic neuropathies to prenatal, deep tissue and relaxation.

In any given treatment, Salvatore utilizes a number of modalities and techniques to provide deep relief and emotional well-being. Of note, in 2015 Salvatore was awarded a Diploma in Visionary Craniosacral Work by the internationally recognized Osteopath Hugh Milne. Craniosacral Therapy is particularly helpful with conditions that effect the Cranium, Spine, Pelvis and Sacrum such as Concussions, Whiplash, Grinding, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, Tinnitus, Bell’s Palsy, Pelvic Imbalances, Back Pain and Sciatica to name a few.

A lover of life, Salvatore stops to smell the roses. If he is not tending the tomatoes in his vegetable garden, you may find him practicing Japanese Calligraphy at the kitchen table.

Mike (Ming-Chieh) Pan

Mike is an RMT graduate from Centennial College. His journey into healthcare began in 2012 as the primary caregiver for a family member.

His hands-on skills are drawn from both western and eastern disciplines, and his pressure can be medium to firm to meet both relaxation and deep tissue purposes. Throughout his years in practice, Mike has gained expertise in Deep Tissue massage, Cupping, Thai massage and other eastern modalities. He is currently studying Acupuncture / TCM.

Mike might be found in all altitudes from sea to sky living his life to the fullest. Vive y disfruta la vida.

Simi Rahman

Simi is a Registered Acupuncturist, she diagnoses and treats patients using the ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine modality of Acupuncture. Simi comes from a Western Medical background, having completed her B.Sc in Pre-medicine. and her Master’s in Cellular and Molecular Biology. However, she found she missed the direct interaction with patients and pursued Acupuncture which provides her the challenge of encountering new symptoms every day, and seeing positive results within a few weeks.

She had a chance to further improve her skills by training at a Teaching Hospital in Guangzhou, China, at both the Acupuncture and Tuina Departments. Concentrating on Health Maintenance and Recovery at every stage of life, she deals with patients suffering from Respiratory disorders, such as persistent coughing, Asthma, shortness of breath, COPD; from Urogenital diseases such as urinary retention, incontinence, painful urination, nocturnal emissions, impotence; from Digestive disorders such as indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, GERD; from Emotional disorders such as anxiety, panic attacks, depression, lack of motivation, insomnia; from Endocrine disorders such as Diabetes, fatigue, edema, sweating, Menstrual problems, Infertility, PMS, Morning sickness, as well as pain managements and general body maintenance.

Simi is a graduate of Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, TSTCM, and has been teaching at CCTCM and OCTCM Colleges.

Dean Singh

Dean is a highly skilled personal trainer and fascial stretch therapist with almost 15 years of experience. He emphasizes creating a stimulus to facilitate the body's adaptation to new conditions, improving posture and mobility, utilizing Fascia Stretch Therapy and a posture-centric training approach.

Dean transformed his physique, enabling him to lead an active lifestyle with his young children, pain-free and with effortless movement patterns in his 40s after enduring shoulder and back injuries in his 20s. He incorporates meditation into his routine to develop a stronger mind-body-spirit connection.

During his leisure time, he enjoys outdoor activities, philosophical discussions, and guitar-playing. He is deeply passionate about his profession and derives immense satisfaction from witnessing the positive impact on his client's lives as they achieve better alignment.
